Reiki Worldwide - general information and what is Reiki?
General information
Reiki WorldWide (RWW) is a Foundation sending Reiki*-practioners on a voluntary basis to post-war areas. The participants represent different Reiki schools and all degrees. Currently we have around 80 practioners and they come from the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Ireland, France, New Zealand and the U.S.A. just to name a few. During missions we work according to the Reiki best practices of the traditional Usui system, both during Reiki sessions as well as for Reiki training.
In 2000 RWW started as a project of Foundation Motherhood, an organisation which rendered help to women and children in need, in various places in the world. From September 2006 onward RWW is working as a fully independent foundation providing Reiki sessions and Reiki training. RWW has been organising monthly Reiki sessions in Tuzla en Srebrenica in Bosnia Hercegovina for 15 years and has conducted several missions to Iraqi Kurdistan since 2012. In Iraqi Kurdistan over 100 people have learned Reiki 1. RWW is currently in the process of becoming a partner of the UNHCR.
What is Reiki?
Reiki is the passing on of energy via the hands, possibly supporting the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual healing processes. Based on our many years of experience Reiki generally makes receivers feel more relaxed while generating a feeling of warmth, tingling and/or flowing.
Based on the feedback we get from organisations that we have worked with we learned that Reiki not only works very well for the receivers directly but also improves the general atmosphere in difficult situations (like refugee camps) and it's effect lasts for a couple of days after the sessions.
